Artist Blog 9: Urban Zen

Urban Zen is a program to promote the Haiti Artisan Project. Where a group of artists travel to Haiti and one-on one help with Haitian artist. The artists produce pots, chandeliers, jewelry, and many other objects with stone and metal. This project is going towards a good cause to help and promote Haiti.
This is a neckless made by a Haitian women. The beads are very geometric shapes. I would totally wear this neckless, I like the several repeating loops the neckless makes. The necklaces are make out of recycled cardboard. The beads are hand sewn on to  make the neckless.

The vases below are made out of tobacco leaves. The leaves are wrapped around a vase to create a naturalistic tone.
The chandlers are very cool in my opinion. They are made out of patinas, wood, and handcrafted iron work. The beads create a horizontal line, and all pulled together create a great effect of a organic shape and texture. I like them they are very pretty.
