Artist Blog 15: Yuki Matsueda

Yuki Matsueda a Japanese based artist has mastered the art of creating real 3D images. Her art work is amazing with images jumping out right at you. Instead of adding to a piece of work the characters are jumping out of the art work. When looking at the work it looks like time is stopped. Matsueda's main theme s are egg yokes escaping the shell and card emblems jumping off paper.

When I first looked at her art I was a little confused with what the meaning was. To me I thought of the emblems of the cards trying to escape the glass and they were being contained by some sort of rubber. But after reading what the artist intended to do it made more sense. A question I have for the artist is what kind of material did she use to hold and mold the objects in place. In her art work she is using implied motion to show the egg yoke exploding from the egg. The artist is trying to defy gravity with her art by stopping it in motion. Matsueda's art is a fun creative way to create three dimensional art.
